Have you always wanted to try quilting but felt intimidated by the tools and equipment? Our Beginner’s Rail Fence Quilt Workshop is the perfect place to start!

Designed with novice quilters in mind, our variation on the traditional Rail Fence quilt introduces you to the essential elements of quilt-making without overwhelming you. Learn new skills, build confidence, and create a beautiful quilt for your home.

Your quilt top will measure approximately 45 in × 45 in, growing to a finished size of 52 in × 52 in after adding sashing, borders, and binding. It’s the perfect size for a lap quilt.

WORKSHOP DETAILS

• Schedule: 3 consecutive Thursday evenings

• Fee: $175.00 plus HST=$197.75

• Experience: No experience necessary!

• Homework: Some sewing will be required between classes.

Bring your own sewing machine or use ours. If you’ve wanted to try quilting without investing in equipment, this workshop is for you!

• 35 cm each of 3 coordinating quilting cotton fabrics: light, mid-tone, and dark

• 25 cm of sashing fabric

• 40 cm of border fabric

Celebrate the cozy charm of the season in our Needle Felted Christmas Gnome Workshop!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of needle felting and create your very own adorable fall gnome using soft, colourful wool. No previous experience is necessary — you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process, from shaping the wool to adding the delightful details that bring your gnome to life.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have tried needle felting before, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, get creative, and enjoy a little time crafting with others. All materials are provided, and you’ll go home with your own handmade gnome to enjoy or give as a special gift.

Embark on a creative journey, blending wool and silk to craft a one-of-a-kind accessory.   Layer wool roving, and colourful textural embellishments over delicate silk chiffon, to create a beautifully organic piece of art.  Immerse your piece in warm soapy water and discover the art of felting and fulling your creation.

Our expert instructor will guide you through all the steps to successfully achieve a harmonious blend of texture and color.

Create a one-of-a-kind Christmas ornament  that’s full of charm and holiday spirit!

In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the art of needle felting as you transform a simple felt dryer ball into a festive keepsake to hang on your tree or gift to someone special. 

Guided step-by-step, you’ll discover how to use colorful wool roving, barbed felting needles, and simple techniques to sculpt and blend your design right onto the surface of the dryer ball. You’ll explore how to add fine details, build up texture, and create patterns or motifs—like snowflakes, holly berries, stars, or cozy winter scenes.

No experience is necessary! We’ll provide all the materials and tools you need, along with plenty of inspiration. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a beautiful hand-felted ornament and the confidence to continue creating more at home.  Join us for a relaxing, creative session filled with laughter, learning, and the joy of making something truly personal for the holidays.

Tuesday & Wednesday November 24 & 25, 6pm-9pm Twine Weaving Rag Rugs 

 Discover the beauty of weaving with purpose in our Rag Rug Weaving Workshop at Fusion Fiber Arts. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to transform recycled fabrics—such as old sheets, clothing, and textiles—into a stunning, durable rag rug full of texture and character. 

Guided step-by-step, participants will explore basic weaving techniques on a rag rug loom while gaining an appreciation for the history and sustainability of this timeless craft. Rag rug weaving not only creates something functional and beautiful for your home,but also gives new life to materials that might otherwise be discarded—making it a meaningful and environmentally conscious art form.

 This workshop includes three classes, in Class #1 you’ll learn to prepare your fabric and warp your loom.  Class #2 you will learn about the weft and how to weave your rug.  A rag rug loom is included in the course fee, so you can continue your weaving journey at home.

 Approximately one month after your final weaving session, you’ll return for a final class focused on finishing techniques—learning how to properly secure and complete your rug for long-lasting use. Our fee for this amazing and practical workshop is 195.00 plus HST=$220.35
