Welcome to our Back-to-School Sewing Camp, where young people ages 9-15 will embark on a creative journey over four consecutive days, crafting essential items for the upcoming school year! Day 1: On the first day, our campers will dive into sewing by making their very own fabric file folders. They'll learn how to measure and cut fabric, sew straight lines, and attach closures. Day 2: Pencil Case: Next, it's time to sew a custom pencil case. Campers will practice sewing zippers and creating compartments to hold pencils, pens, and other school supplies. They'll explore different fabric combinations and embellishments to make their pencil cases unique and functional. Day 3: Lunch Bag: On day three, our young sewers will tackle the Lunch Bag Project. In this fun and practical workshop, you’ll sew a stylish, functional lunch bag from start to finish. Along the way, you’ll learn key sewing skills like reading a pattern, assembling layers, adding a lining and attaching straps. This project is a great way to build confidence while making something useful—and uniquely yours! Day 4 Finishing Up: Lunch Bag and Shoe Bags are on the agenda for day 4.

Weaving Rag Rugs with Deb Dunlop
beauty of weaving with purpose in our Rag Rug Weaving Workshop at Fusion Fiber Arts. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to transform recycled fabrics—such as old sheets, clothing, and textiles—into a stunning, durable rag rug full of texture and character.
Guided step-by-step, participants will explore basic weaving techniques on a rag rug loom while gaining an appreciation for the history and sustainability of this timeless craft. Rag rug weaving not only creates something functional and beautiful for your home, but also gives new life to materials that might otherwise be discarded—making it a meaningful and environmentally conscious art form.
This workshop includes three classes, where in Class #1 you’ll learn to prepare your fabric and warp your loom. Class #2 you will learn about the weft and how to weave your rug. A rag rug loom is included in the course fee, so you can continue your weaving journey at home. Approximately one month after your final weaving session, you’ll return for a final class focused on finishing techniques—learning how to properly secure and complete your rug for long-lasting use. Beginner/ Refresher sewing adult sewing
Over the course of two, three-hour sessions, learn or regain fundamental skills by sewing two projects. A handy accessory bag with a zipper and a matching project bag with a drawstring is essential to any beginner sewist. Participants will learn to properly thread and safely operate our in-house sewing machines or their own machine. Kids in the Kitchen
Welcome to Kids in the Kitchen!, a fun and creative sewing camp designed for children aged 9 and up. Over 4 exciting days our young participants will embark on a sewing adventure, crafting delightful kitchen projects that they can proudly use at home. A minimum of sewing experience is necessary. We require each camper to complete our Sewing Machine Basics class. This camp takes place from July 16-19, from 1pm-4pm each day. The cost for the sewing camp is $250.00 tax incl.
